Advanced Placement

Approximately 75% of Auburn School District graduates go on to attend college, but colleges are overly full and the admission process has become more competitive each year. Parents and high school students ask counselors what will give students an edge in the process. The counselors' advice often is that students' participation in rigorous courses such as Advanced Placement (AP) courses strengthen their college application chances. Students who are enrolled in advanced placement courses complete college-level work in high school and prepare for nationally-scored tests that may earn them college credits.

Auburn High School, Auburn Mountainview High School and Auburn Riverside High School offer a rich variety of AP courses for students to complete college-level credits while in high school and satisfy college undergraduate requirements.
