Auburn School District's Board of Directors to Honor Lake View Elementary School Fifth Grade Student
The Auburn School District Board of Directors will recognize Gavin Strojan, a fifth grade student at Lake View Elementary School, for being an outstanding student on Monday, October 26, at 7 p.m. in the board room at the James P. Fugate Administration Building.
Gavin Strojan demonstrates excellent academic and leadership skills as a fifth grade student at Lake View Elementary School. He is extremely active both in and out of school.
At school Gavin serves as the Lake View ASB President, has been a greeter for new Lake View students and was a member of the 2008-09 Lake View Global Reading Challenge Team. Gavin celebrates differences and encourages an inclusive community among his peers. Gavin’s favorite academic subjects are math, reading and history. According to Lake View principal Mr. Weibel, “Gavin is a terrific student who models the social and academic skills Lake View hopes to instill in all students.”
Outside of school Gavin is a member of the AAU Jammin’ basketball team and the Rapids 98 Navy soccer team. He collects baseball cards and Pez Heads. Gavin also enjoys traveling. He aspires to be a teacher or politician.
