Auburn School Board Passes Resolution No. 1119 in Opposition of Initiative 1033
The Auburn School District Board of Directors passed Resolution No. 1119 in opposition of Initiative 1033 during the public school board meeting on October 12.
The Auburn School Board asks voters to reject Initiative 1033 on the November 3rd ballot due to the following issues:
I-1033 will reduce state revenue by an estimated $5.9 billion by 2015.
I-1033 is on the ballot in a year when the Washington Legislature reduced funding for K-12 public schools by $1.5 billion, cuts that have negatively impacted our local schools, staff and students.
I-1033 would clearly hurt the State’s efforts to promote student learning, achievement and school accountability.
I-1033 will have a devastating impact on K-12 education in our local community and in the State of Washington.
King County voters can complete their ballots and drop them in the mail by November 3, or return their ballots without the cost of postage using the King County drop box at the Auburn Library, 1102 Auburn Way South. Pierce County voters can send their mail-in ballots or vote at their local poll sites.
