West Auburn High School Awarded NEA Foundation Grant
Teachers Nancy Olsten and Thomas Parsons of West Auburn High School in Auburn, Washington, have received a $5,000 Student Achievement Grant from the NEA Foundation to deepen critical-thinking and problem-solving skills for at-risk students.
The grantees will introduce global issues through cross-curricular, activity-based learning. Students will consider issues through biographies, interviews and research. Through interaction with students in Africa, West Auburn students will develop an appreciation for African culture through the study of music, art and film.
