TODAY IS THE DAY OFSILENCE.  People who are silent today believe that laws andattitudes should be inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and genderidentities. The day of silence is to draw attention to those who have beensilenced by hatred, oppression, and prejudice. Think about the voices you arenot hearing. What can you do to end the silence? All studentsparticipating today should have a note from the GSA club to show theirteachers.  Thank you to everyone who is participating today for standingup for what you believe in. Join us after school today in the teacher’s lunchroom (near Kip’s corner). We will be breaking the silence by enjoying freepizza, cookies, and soda. The GSA statistic of the day #1: "Students who describe themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual ortransgendered are five times more likely to miss school because of feelingunsafe. 28% are forced to drop out" The GSA statistic of the day #2: "42% of adolescent lesbians and 34% of adolescent gay males who havesuffered physical attack also attempt suicide"
