What is Sports Officiating, and why do we have a class about it? Today, there is a great shortage of referees, umpires, and other types of officials. The greatest area of shortage, is in youth officials. There comes a time, just like every profession, when the skilled veterans must retire. Auburn High School's Sports Officiating Class, along with Mr. Murray Johnson will help to fill those positions. The following areas will be concentrated on:
  • Volleyball
Line Judge, Umpire, Referee, Score Keeper
  • Basketball
    Referee, Score Keeper
  • Baseball, Softball (fast & slow pitch)
    Umpire in Chief, Base Umpire
  • Soccer
    Referee, Assistant Referee
  • Football
Referee, Umpire, Line Judge, Back Judge
  • Track & Field
