The Auburn High School Sports Officiating Class, now in it's third semester, consists of a group of students looking for the knowledge and skills to take to the basketball courts, football fields, baseball diamonds, and other places where officials are critically needed. Lead by founder, Mr. Murray Johnson (right), the class continues to grow and help nurture the needs of the community. We are proud to be the first, and still the only, Sports Officiating class in the state of Washington. Here's some information on Mr. Johnson:
  • Graduated from Amesbury High School, (Amesbury, MA) in 1963.
  • Earned a BA in Education, and played football at Syracuse University 1963-1967
  • Idaho State University football coach 1972-75
  • Started teaching at Auburn High School in 1983.
  • Auburn High School Head Football Coach 1985-89.
  • Currently coaches golf at Auburn High School.
  • Currently PE Department Head and teaches Sports Offciating.
