A competitive activity which develops better analysis, research, organization, and communication skills (listening and speaking). We compete against other schools around the Northwest, and also travel nationally to some of the top meets in the country. Students on the team prepare and participate in both individual and team events, in about a dozen different speech contests and three forms of debating. Auburn High School was voted one of the top 200 schools in the nation last year. There are no membership fees, but students must purchase an ASB card if they wish to travel with the team, and they must turn out for after-school practices. Any student at Auburn High School can join the Debate Team. There are no pre-requisites.
