Green River Community College Auto Body
Auburn School District students have the opportunity to
increase basic academic skills while learning work place skills related to the
auto body industry. The auto body course allows students to master industry
skills. The course is taught by community college staff at Green River
Community College. This competency-based program allows the student to
earn variable credit. For more information, contact Rod Luke at (253) 931-4903.
Options
To provide a way for students to earn credits they
had almost earned but lost due to difficult/unusual circumstances in their lives.
(Students earned 50 to 59% of their grade in the class they failed.)
Students will earn credit with a passing grade, not a letter grade.
Students will complete 20 hours of coursework in the specific
areas requiring credits. The course
must meet a requirement for graduation. Students
will have 20 school days to recapture the credit. Daily attendance, Monday through Friday, in seventh period
is required. Two unexcused absences
will result in removal from the program and the loss of credit.
Parents, classroom teacher, counselor/administrators, and the student
must be in accord regarding participation in the Credit Recapture
Program. For more information, contact Bess Owens at (253)
931-4719 ext. 1127.
Recapture
Auburn High School offers the
Recapture program, which allows students another opportunity to earn credits to fulfill
graduation requirements. The
program is offered for two hours after school each weekday. The course curriculum focuses upon history and language arts
and has established criteria which students must accomplish to earn credit.
Students may self-select into the course. Teacher
and counselor recommendations are also part of the enrollment process.
