	After graduating from Simon Fraser University in 1993 with a BA in communications, I began working with youth as the Athletic Director at the Everett Boys and Girls Club. Since then I have worked as the Youth and Family Program Director for the Everett Family YMCA, and a Security Monitor for Kellogg Middle School in Shoreline. Throughout that time, I held various high school and middle school coaching positions in wrestling. Finally I decided that I needed to combine my desire to work with young people and my love for coaching. Once I finished my student teaching and received my masters’ degree, I landed my first teaching position at Sultan Middle School in 2000. Just prior to the 2001-2002 school year, I found myself moving my family six hours away to Newport, Washington (45 miles above Spokane), to begin a new teaching and head coaching position. After four years, my family and I had outgrown the small town of 2,000 residents, and decided to find a spot back on the Westside and closer to the big city. Now, settled on Lea Hill with my wife Cathy, son Hunter, and daughter Emily, I look forward to becoming a long time Auburn resident, watching my children grow, and my family mature. It is a great time in history. Not often does one get to be a part of building the climate of a new school, and a positive new history.
