NEWS RELEASE
Three Auburn High School DECA Students
Take Action Against Drunk Driving

In a great effort to spread awareness about the dangers and tragedies related to drunk driving, Auburn High School seniors Erin Olsen, Tatiana Warne, and Aislinn Hayden have been running a two year campaign that has now been nationally recognized.

The marketing team turned their campaign into a Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) written project and through the Auburn High School DECA program, entered their project into a state-wide marketing event.  Their efforts qualified them for an international competition that will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 19 through the 24.

The Don't Drink and Drive project, which won second place in the state event, included fund raising activities for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Foundation as well as promotional assemblies, billboards, and even golf tournaments that helped the team spread their message.  The project was also a great learning experience that the three Auburn High School DECA students will not soon forget.  "It was really challenging to get the cooperation of each organization we asked to contribute," Aislinn Hayden said, "but in the end it was really rewarding to see that we made a contribution to such a worthy cause."
