Vickie Leaf Wins Dole's
"Creative 5 A Day Teacher of the Year for 2003"

Vickie Leaf, Ilalko Elementary School primary specialist, has recently won the Dole’s “Creative 5 A Day Teacher of the Year for 2003."  Since 1997, Dole Food Company has annually selected three outstanding elementary educators for this reward in support of the "National 5 A Day for Better Health Program."  To be considered, teachers who have created unique curricular activities that motivate students submit their health and nutrition curriculum.  Ms. Leaf, as a first place winner, will receive a trip for four to Disneyland and a "5 A Day" party for her students.
