Auburn Riverside High School Teacher Selected as
Wal-Mart Teacher-of-the-Year

Geri Rohlff, Auburn Riverside High School language arts, reading, and study skills teacher, has been selected as the 2004 Auburn Wal-Mart Teacher-of-the-Year for her exceptional commitment to students. Ms. Rohlff pioneered the after-school study skills program at Auburn Riverside High School for students who need special assistance. She teaches students how to be successful with their studies and how to refocus and become reconnected with their learning process. Ms. Rohlff is also the co-chair of the high school’s language arts department.

On Wednesday, April 21, at 10:15 a.m., Mark Schepker, Auburn Wal-Mart manager, will present a check for $1,000 to Ms. Rohlff in her classroom at Auburn Riverside High School. Ms. Rohlff and her school will use the funds to enrich her students’ education. Ms. Rohlff is now qualified for the Wal-Mart State Teacher-of-the-Year which is awarded with $10,000 and, if successful at that level, she would automatically be entered into the Wal-Mart National Teacher-of-the-Year which is recognized with $25,000.
