Auburn's Dick Scobee Elementary School Principal
Visits "Other" Dick Scobee

On March 31, Greg Brown, principal of Dick Scobee Elementary School in Auburn, visited the only other school in the United States named after astronaut Dick Scobee. The Dick Scobee Elementary School of San Antonio welcomed Principal Brown Texas-style at its monthly pep assembly, the “Scobee Shout-Out.” The kids’ hoo-ha preceded Principal Brown’s address to the crowd, where he told students fun facts about the Dick Scobee students in Auburn. He presented the school with memorabilia and passed out letters written by the Auburn students, which shared more information about their school. The San Antonio students were thrilled to receive the letters and promised to write back about their school. Jeff Davenport, principal of Dick Scobee Elementary School in San Antonio, presented Principal Brown with memorabilia to take back to his students.

Both principals had the opportunity to discuss their education systems, and Principal Brown toured the entire school. A first grade girl even made a sign that read: “Welcome to Scobee!”
