NEWS RELEASE
Improvement Underway at Lea Hill Elementary's
10-acre National Education Landmark Reserve

On April 22, classroom improvement projects will begin at Lea Hill Elementary School’s 10-acre National Education Landmark Reserve.

Home Depot will sponsor a team from The Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound, working in cooperation with the Auburn Eagle Scouts, Boy Scouts and Lea Hill Elementary School volunteers, to provide the following improvements: install new and more durable bench seating; design and erect a podium/teaching station for instructors; research and create a laminated information sheet regarding the reserve for instructors/youth; and improve the existing trail system within the reserve.

This project will provide an opportunity for teachers to educate within an environment that has been designed to enhance the learning experience within a natural setting.

Volunteers are welcome. Food and drinks will be provided by Subway, Domino’s and Fred Meyer. For more information, contact Sonya O’Brien at (888) 841-0164 or sobonvashon@gmail.com.
