Auburn Students Move On to Regionals in the 2007 Washington Association
for Pupil Transportation (WAPT) School Bus Safety Poster Contest

Auburn School District students in grades K-5 are competing in the 2007 Washington Association for Pupil Transportation (WAPT) school bus safety poster contest.

Students are required to submit a poster design using only freehand drawn letters and original artwork highlighting this year’s theme, “Stop on Red, Kids Ahead.” Three students from divisions 1 and 2 were selected to move on to the regional competition:

Division 1 (Grades K-2)

• First Place: Anna Ybarra, Evergreen Heights Elementary

• Second Place: Jhordin Prescott, Ilalko Elementary

• Third Place: Sydney Kerk, Evergreen Heights Elementary

Division 2 (Grades 3-5)

• First Place: Meghan Hicks, Pioneer Elementary

• Second Place: Solomia Onishchenko, Pioneer Elementary

• Third Place: Amber O’Connell, Washington Elementary

Regional winners will be judged at the state WAPT conference in June to select state winners.
