Olympic Middle School Awarded
"We the People Bookshelf" Grant

Olympic Middle School has been awarded a “We the People Bookshelf” grant sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office.

The grant was established to encourage young people to read and understand classic books in the K-12 reading levels while exploring themes in American history, culture and ideas.

This year’s theme is the “Pursuit of Happiness.” A collection of 15 books for young readers will be given to Olympic Middle School. A total of 2,000 K-12 school and public libraries across the United States were awarded a “We the People Bookshelf” grant through a competitive application process.
