Brightness and Contrast can be adjusted by going under the Image drop-down menu, going to adjust, and then brightness and contrast. The sliders can be used to create a number of effects, and by selecting parts of the image with the marquee tool you can only adjust certain parts of the picture.

<High Brightness and low contrast
Normal dwarf sketch
Higher brightness and high contrast.
Normal color theif drawing lower brightness and higher contrast
