| To feather an image, select what you want to use. Then, go to the Select drop-down menu, then
Feather(cntrl-alt-D). Copy the image, then make a new image slightly larger than the copied picture.
Then paste the picture on the new document.

This effect can also be used to make items such as collages and to blend images into webpages.

| Another effect that can be used well with feathering is opacity. Layer opacity can be modified
selecting a layer, going to the Layer drop-down menu, Layer Style then Blending Options. You can then use
the slider to adjust the opacity.
