Kye Hillig Honored as Public School
Employees of Washington Life Member
Kye Hillig, the lead warehouse technician for Auburn School District, was honored as a Life Member during the 2007 Public School Employees of Washington (PSE) Annual Convention in Yakima, Washington, July 27-29.
Kye represents the warehouse employees of Auburn School District with integrity and passion by improving the workplace environment through worker’s benefits and employee/employer relations.
Kye also served on various political causes including the PSE Legislative Council for over eight years and he testified in Olympia several times to help pass the SERS 3 retirement plan. His involvement was key to the exceptional gains in the quality and availability of health care coverage for classified employees. Additionally, Kye has dedicated over 22 years of service to one of his major goals: to implement an annual cost-of-living allowance for classified employees. He was also instrumental in the passing of I-732.
Kye Hillig was nominated by Linda Cowan, Superintendent of Auburn School District, Randy Thomas, Director of Maintenance and Operations of Auburn School District, John Lobdell, Supervisor of Warehouse and Grounds of Auburn School District, and Linda Carver, Auburn PSEA/T President.
PSE Life Members are individuals who have been an active PSE member for over 10 years and completed a lifetime of achievements making an outstanding contribution to the general welfare of classified school employees.
