Code Descriptions and Explanations:

PP-SS-AA-OBB-LL-11 - Account code assigned to a budget amount.

PP is the program code assigned by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). This code is defined in the Accounting Manual for School Districts which is available at the OSPI web site www.k12.wa.us/safs/.    In the illustration,  the program code is the first two digits of the account code. Program code 01 is the Basic Education program that takes place in the school building.

SS is the subprogram code assigned by Auburn School District.  These codes are listed in the Subprogram Code section.

AA is the activity code assigned by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). This code is defined in the Accounting Manual for School Districts which is available at the OSPI web site www.k12.wa.us/safs/.    In the illustration,  the activity code is the third set of two digits of the account code. Activity code 27 is the Teaching activity that takes place in the school building.

O is the object code assigned by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). This code is defined in the Accounting Manual for School Districts which is available at the OSPI web site www.k12.wa.us/safs/.    In the illustration,  the object code is the first digit of the fourth set of digits of the account code. Object code 5 is the supply object.

BB is the sub object code assigned by Auburn School District.  These codes are listed in the Sub Object Code section.  They have been combined to form a unique three digit code.  In the illustration, 500 has been assigned to supplies, 501 to instructional materials, 503 to software, 591 to copy paper, 762 to conferences and workshops and 799 to miscellaneous purchased services.

LL is the location code assigned by Auburn School District.  These codes are listed on the Location page.  Each school building has been assigned a unique location code.  In the illustration, 04 has been assigned to Alpac Elementary School.

11 is a user defined code that could be assigned by the Auburn School District.  This section of the code is not used by the district.
