Tips for Searching the Internet with Students

• Use questions rather than topics for research (for example: Why should I move to Florida?)

• Web the concept before searching (Use Inspiration!) to generate keywords

• Use Nets:
  Start Narrow
  Use Exact Phrases
  Trim the URL
  Seek Similar Pages

• Look for the basics on web pages: Who, When, What, and Why?

• Encourage students to READ the pages
