Visit the Magnificent Rainbow exhibit of form poems written by kids.
Click on each poem and read it carefully. You will recognize My Lolipop
from Mr. Spencer's introduction to this unit. |
|
2 |
Choose one of the poems that you like best. On page 3 or your poetry
journal write which poem you like best, and why. |
|
3 |
Click on the link to the right on Poem Types. Read the descriptions
and examples of some of the different types of poetry. Choose one that
you like. |
|
4 |
Like Jack did, copy the poem you liked onto page 4 of your poetry
journal and change words to make it your own. |
|
5 |
Visit Jack Prelutsky's poetry writing page and carefully read his
tips. |
|
6 |
Go to the poetry writing part of his site and use his poetry starters
or your own words. Write ideas for your poem on page 5 of your poetry
journal. |
|
7 |
Start Microsoft Word and type your poem just like Jack did. |
|
8 |
Save your poem to your folder on the student drive and print TWO copies,
one for you to take home and one to turn in to Miss Stretchberry with
your poetry journal. |
