Bob Jones Honored with
Tony Gasparovich Memorial Coach Award

Bob Jones, Auburn High School’s activities and athletics director and head football coach, was honored with the Tony Gasparovich Memorial Coach Award at the 36th Annual High School Scholar Athlete Brunch of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Seattle-King County Chapter.  Mr. Jones was presented the award for being  “a football supporter who exhibits love and dedication of the game through his principles and leadership with those whom he works.”  The event was held on Sunday, December 16, at the University of Washington’s Student Union Building (HUB) at 9 a.m.

For thirty-six years, the Seattle-King County Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has recognized high school football backs and linemen who have excelled in the classroom as well as the playing field.  High school coaches in King County and Kitsap nominate the players who fill this criteria.  All of these nominees are then honored with a brunch and an invitation to the Seattle Seahawks’ game on that day.

For more information, contact Tim Cummings, Auburn School District executive director of student instructional programs, activities, and athletics, at (253) 931-4712.
