NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School Board of Directors Recognize
Ilalko Elementary Fourth Grade Student

On Monday, November 26, the Auburn School District Board of Directors recognized Mariah Shinners, a fourth grade student at Ilalko Elementary School for being an outstanding and talented student who works very hard.  Mariah’s teacher, Mrs. Rasmussen, assesses Mariah as being academically at the top of her class. She is considerate of all students in her class and never fails to help others in a quiet and unassuming manner.  Mariah takes her schooling seriously and gives "all of herself" to each task. “She embraces all people, staff and students, with a genuine respect and concern and is also very kind,” says Mrs. Rasmussen.  Another one of Mariah's outstanding qualities is her reliability. She is always ready to learn and help. She is Homework Director because she is organized, conscientious, and diligent. Mariah never needs reminding or prompting and works courteously with the classroom teacher. Mariah is also a Student Council representative.  She has a perfect behavior record since the beginning of school and consistently has a positive attitude at school. She puts in 100% effort into all academics; is self-motivated and extremely creative. Mariah also routinely offers to help others adults and students out with any job that needs to be completed.
