NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School Board Recognizes
Lea Hill Elementary Teacher, Bill Hess

On Monday, December 9, the Auburn School Board of Directors will recognize Bill Hess, Lea Hill Elementary School P.E. specialist, for his dedication to his school team.  Mr. Hess is known for always stepping forward to fill any need in his school building.  His selflessness and determination to support others makes a positive difference for his students and colleagues.  Lea Hill Elementary School principal, Donna Dussault-Walker, describes Mr. Hess as “being so solid.  ‘Whatever is good for the order’ seems to be his motivation.  He is the quintessential team player and never seeks out recognition nor thanks.  He is such a stalwart part of the Lea Hill team.”  In 1992, Mr. Hess was hired by Auburn School District to be a sixth grade teacher at Lea Hill Elementary.  He taught sixth grade until 1995 when sixth grade became part of the middle school configuration.  He then taught fifth grade until this year when he became a P.E. specialist.  “Mr. Hess felt that the change would allow him to have influence on more students and he liked the challenge of teaching a new discipline,” said Ms. Dussault-Walker.  Mr. Hess’ commitment to making Lea Hill Elementary School an excellent learning environment is outstanding.
