Gildo Rey Fifth Grader Awarded First Place Prize for 
Seattle Veterans of Foreign Wars Writing Contest

Jarell Washington, a Gildo Rey Elementary School fifth grader, has been awarded a first place prize for the Seattle Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) writing contest and is advancing to the state level competition which will be held in January.  Jarrell wrote a 250-word essay about “his dream for America.”
