NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School District's Post-Secondary Night
Offers Students and Parents Options for Life After High School

Auburn School District will be hosting its tenth annual Post-Secondary Night on Wednesday, February 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Auburn Riverside High School. The evening’s program will allow students and parents to explore various options for high school graduates such as community and technical colleges, four year public and private colleges, career training programs, apprenticeship programs, and military services. Parents and students from all district middle schools and high schools are being encouraged to attend this event.

The evening will begin with a short presentation in the main gym at Auburn Riverside at 7 p.m. after which students and parents can attend break-out sessions on numerous topics including admissions to 4 year public and private colleges and universities, community and technical colleges, financial aid, athletics at the college level, Tech Prep college credit available at the high schools, and Running Start/Advanced Placement options. In addition, there will be an information fair in the Commons where representatives from numerous colleges, universities, career schools, the military services, apprenticeship programs, and several programs offering transition resources to special needs students will be ready to answer questions and share information. There will be over 80 different institutions and programs represented at the Post-Secondary Night Fair. This event will provide valuable information for students as they make plans for “life after high school.”
