AHS Music Students Selected for
All-State Choirs and Bands

Several Auburn High School (AHS) band and choral music students have received top honors by being selected to participate in the 52nd annual Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) All-State Bands, Orchestras, Choirs and Jazz ensembles. The AHS students listed below will join 1,100 other outstanding student musicians in Yakima in mid-February:

Erin Durch, Wind Ensemble, Flute; Joshua Linders, Wind Ensemble, Bass Clarinet; Jodie Rottle, Chamber Orchestra, Flute; Daniel Siegmund, Wind Ensemble, Trumpet; Chris Goodwin, Symphonic Choir, Tenor 1; Bailey Goranson, Treble Choir, Soprano 1; and Emily Yarnold, Treble Choir, Soprano 2. Brett Dupree is the AHS band director and Kandy Gilbert is the AHS choral teacher.

The All-State jazz groups will rehearse from February 15-18. The All-State bands, orchestras and choirs will convene February 17-20. The finest high school musicians in each of these categories will rehearse together under the direction of world-renown conductors and present their final concerts in the Capitol Theatre and SunDome. These WMEA All-State musicians were selected through auditions to participate in this outstanding event, which is sponsored by the Washington Music Educators Association.
