Auburn School District Music Students
Selected for All-State Honors
Five high school music students from the Auburn School District have been selected for the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) All-State Honor Groups:
Emily Golan, a sophomore at Auburn High School, was selected in the violin 2 category for the All-State Orchestra.
Natalie Mace, a senior at Auburn Riverside High School, was selected in the flute category for the All-State Band.
Liliya Marchuk, a senior at Auburn Riverside High School, was selected in the soprano 2 category for the All-State Choir.
Derek Schillaci, a junior at Auburn High School, was selected in the trumpet category for the All-State Band.
Saeward Schillaci, a sophomore at Auburn High School, was selected in the French horn category for the All-State Band.
All five students will perform in their All-State groups during March 22-25, 2007. The Gala Concert will be held at the University of Puget Sound Fieldhouse in Tacoma on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. Gerard Schwarz, conductor of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, will conduct the 2007 WMEA All-State Orchestra. Andre Thomas, a distinguished composer and arranger from Florida State University, will direct the 2007 WMEA All-State Choir. Linda Moorhouse, associate director of bands at Louisiana State University, will conduct the 2007 WMEA All-State Band.
