Laura received her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Western Washington University. Her husband graduated from Auburn High and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. Laura is a small business owner running Theimer Insurance in downtown Auburn. As an executive board member of The Auburn Downtown Association (a group of downtown business owners) she represents TADA on the board of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce. Her volunteer work started with the local schools, school district and PTAs. Laura continues to mentor and assist others in advocating for their students. She and her husband Tony live in Auburn with their two high school children.
Michelle Binetti is dedicated and committed to the community of Auburn and its future. She is a life-long resident of Auburn and an Alumni of the Auburn School District. Michelle has worked for the ASD for the past 10 years and is an active parent and community volunteer. She is the past PTA President of Terminal Park Elementary and PTSA Vice President for Olympic Middle School. She is a current board member in the Sons of Italy and has been the Event Chairperson for the APSF on a volunteer basis for the last two years. Michelle attended Central Washington University. Her father, Joseph Binetti, is a former Auburn Principal and Camp Auburn Director. She is a mother of three sons all who have and are attending Auburn Schools.
Nicole Claudon is a third-generation Auburn native, attending Hazelwood Elementary, Rainier Middle school, Auburn High School and graduating as the very first class from Auburn Mountainview High School in 2007. Born and raised an avid Coug, she graduated from WSU with a Human Development degree. She worked as a Para Educator at Issaquah High School with English Language Learners and at Auburn Mountainview High School with the Lion’s Den program for 9th grade students needing extra support. For two years she was the head Varsity Volleyball Coach at AMHS. Currently, she works for her family’s business, Valley Buick GMC, as a Finance Manager. Though she is no longer working in education, her time as a para educator and coach showed her that there is always a need for additional support for our educators and students. She is excited to join the Auburn Public Schools Foundation as a way to stay involved in the education community and the Auburn School District that has given her and her family so much over the years!
Shelly is the founding Foundation Treasurer. Shelly and her husband Darrell are graduates of Auburn High School and both earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Washington University. Their two children graduated from Auburn Mountainview High School; their son graduated from UW, and their daughter is currently attending UW. Shelly was previously employed by Oldcastle Precast, Inc. in Auburn. After 20 years, she left Oldcastle to be more involved with her children. She has served as Treasurer for several organizations including Hazelwood Elementary PTA, 3 years; Rainier Middle School PTA, 5 years; and as founding and current Treasurer for Auburn Mountainview Booster Club, into 10th year.
Matthew Longhurst has 13 years of non-profit leadership experience in the Auburn community. In addition to his work as an attorney and a CPA, he was a founding team member of Pacific Ballroom Dance and the Director of Global Operations for Dancing Classrooms. He is a graduate of both Brigham Young University and the Seattle University School of Law. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, climbing, running, biking, and swimming. Matthew and his wife Heather live in Lakeland Hills, where their three daughters (14, 12, and 8) attend Mt. Baker Middle School and Lakeland Hills Elementary School.
Rikki has been a member of the Auburn community for over 31 years. She is the Airport Manager and Flight School Administrator at Crest Airpark in Covington. Rikki volunteers for Green River Community College on the General Advisory Committee and is the chairman of the Aviation Advisory Committee. Rikki has also been involved in serving on several PTA and school committees at Lakeview, Cascade and Auburn High School. Her 3 children attended and graduated from Auburn High School and all 3 have moved on to attend and graduate from college. Rikki, her husband Charley, 2 dogs and cat live in Auburn.
Laurie Bishop has been involved with the youth in the Auburn community for the last 15 years. She has volunteered with the PTA at Pioneer Elementary School in several roles including Treasurer. In addition, she is actively involved in the youth sports community. Laurie has a BA in Public Relations from Central Washington University, a Certificate of Accounting from City University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Laurie and her family have lived in Auburn since 1991. Her family has a long history in the Auburn Schools. Her husband and both of their children are Auburn High School graduates. Today one child is attending Boise State University and the other is in graduate school at Utah State. She recently accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer for Kennedy/Jenks Consultants.
Laurie also serves as a member and current president of the Auburn School Board and is the board's representative to the foundation for 2017.
Lisa Connors has been dedicated to the Auburn School District for over 12 years. She was a member of the Auburn School Board of Directors for 7 years providing excellent leadership and direction. In addition to being a Founding Trustee, Lisa served on the Foundation’s design team. She was an active volunteer for years with the Lake View PTA and was the Founding President of the Auburn High School PTSA. Lisa has also been an active member of the Auburn community serving on the Board of Directors for Auburn Youth Resources, the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce Economic & Governmental Affairs Committee and the Auburn Noon Lions Club. Lisa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and is currently working towards her Master’s in Business Administration. Lisa has lived in Auburn since 1997 and has three sons.
Nickole Evans-Buck has been an active member of the Auburn community since 2008. She is Past-President of the Auburn Valley Kiwanis club and was a Commissioner for the Auburn Arts Commission. She graduated with her MA in Organizational Change from Hawaii Pacific University and her BA in Human Services from Western Washington University. She currently works as a Case Manager for the Developmental Disabilities Administration. Her 2 young girls both attend Green River Montessori School. Her hobbies include international disaster relief, volunteering, body building, hiking, boating, camping and spending time with her daughters and husband Mike. Nickole is passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential.
Senator Joe Fain represents the 47th District in the Washington Legislature and has been serving South King County residents for more than a decade. Joe was elected in 2010 and has quickly become a leader on education issues, serving on the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee and the Joint Legislative Task Force on Education Funding. In 2012 Joe was recognized by the Kent Area PTA with the ‘Spirit of Community’ award for his work on education issues in South King County. Joe lives in Auburn with his wife Steffanie.
Dr. James "Jim" P. Fugate was the Superintendent of the Auburn Public School District from 1973-1997. He served on the Board of Directors for Sterling Bank from 1988-2010 and Auburn Regional Medical Center from 1984-2009. He and his wife Billy enjoy sharing time now between their homes in Auburn and Sun City, Arizona. They have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Billy and Jim have been happily married for 60 years.
Linda Graves is a lifetime Auburn resident. She attended Washington Elementary and Cascade Middle School and graduated from Auburn High School. She attended Green River Community College and went on to graduate from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a Master of Education degree in exercise physiology.
Linda was an active volunteer at Washington Elementary and served as PTA vice president. She is passionate about school health and currently serves as chair of the district’s wellness committee. Linda has worked with schools for the past 10 years. She is employed by Tacoma Pierce County Health Department as a health promotion coordinator for the past 12 years.
Linda has a son in 10th grade at Auburn High School.
David Paulson grew up in the Auburn community and attended Ilalko Elementary, Mt. Baker Middle School, and Auburn Riverside High School. He received a full ride football scholarship to the University of Oregon and was a part of three pac-12/10 conference championship teams. David earned his Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. He was drafted to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 7th round of the 2012 draft. He played two seasons for the Steelers and one season for the San Diego Chargers. Since retiring from the NFL David has worked for an international soccer tournament and has been a substitute teacher. David enjoys coaching and mentoring young students. He is the head coach of an 8th grade football team and helps coach a 6th grade flag football team. David is looking forward to giving back to the auburn community and helping students reach their potential.
Rhonda is an Alumni of the Auburn School District, attending Lea Hill, Cascade and Auburn High School. She received her Computer Science Degree from Highline Community College and worked for Key Trust Company for a number of years. She currently works as a Para-educator at Lake View Elementary in the LAP Reading program. Rhonda has served on several boards and committees including; PTA, Marching Band Program, Equine 4-H, Cub Scouts, Old Car Club. She enjoys reading, horseback riding and family time. She has one daughter and one son who both graduated from Auburn High.
Dr. Alan Spicciati is the Superintendent for the Auburn School District. He is a graduate of the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music, with a double major in music education and performance. He earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Washington’s Danforth Educational Leadership Program, and his Superintendent certification and Doctor of Education at Seattle Pacific University. He served as a teacher, principal, administrator and interim superintendent at Highline Public Schools. He has a passion for working with families from all communities and values partnerships with community organizations and businesses. He is a member of Rotary, is on the Communities in Schools Advisory Board, Cities in Schools board and spent many years involved in Little League. Alan loves the Auburn community and works passionately on behalf of the students of the Auburn School District. Alan and his wife Shannon live in Auburn and have two teenage sons.
