Auburn School Board to Recognize
Alpac Elementary Fifth Grader
On Monday, February 25, the Auburn School Board of Directors will recognize Alpac Elementary fifth grader, Kevin Alexander, for being an outstanding student. Kevin is a high achiever who sets elevated standards for himself and works hard to achieve them. Kevin is very involved in school, participating in volleyball, basketball, and patrol. As a patrol student, he is dependable and always on time for his tasks. Kevin did a marvelous job as one of the soloists at the District Choral Festival and also plays the snare drum. His grades are exceptional - straight A’s. He studies, works, and goes beyond required expectations. The quality of his work is superb. An example of that quality is he that he recently doubled his six-week Accelerated Reader goal. “As a human being, Kevin is a gift to our world. He treats all others with respect and kindness, both students and adults. He is always willing to help others. He does not follow, but is a leader. His peers respect him and his accomplishments and hold him in high regard,” said Kevin’s classroom teacher, Kim Detwiler. Kevin has received many 100% on mathematics tests and his mathematics teacher, Tricia Larson, says he has a smile on his face and is always eager to learn. “He is a delight to have in class.” Students look up to Kevin as an example of achieving goals in school. P.E. teacher, Matt Dyer, says that Kevin is “…not only a role model for his class, but for every student at Alpac Elementary.”
