AHS to Take Largest Number of Speakers to
State Competition in 10 Years

At the state speech qualifying event held on Tuesday, February 11, an unprecedented number of 14 speakers competing in 17 events from the Auburn High School’s debate and competitive speaking team competed.  As a result, AHS will be taking the largest number of speakers to state competition in ten years.

The following students will be competing:  seniors - Sally Garrison (who is also the current state champion in her event), Paula Konomos, Cammi Upton, and Tanner Vea (who is going in two events); and juniors - Steffanie Fiksdal, Tanya Horlick, Kara Konomos, Daniela Tudor, and Charles West; sophomores - Chris Pierini (also going in two events) and Josh Stewart; and freshmen - David Bragg, Nathan Cohn (also going in two events), and Robyn Erbey.  Robert Horlick is the AHS debate advisor.
