Three AHS Seniors Selected for Recognition as
Finalists in 2005 National Merit Scholarship

Cory Schillaci, a senior, has been selected from the National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists pool to be recognized as a Finalist in the 2005 scholastic competition. Cory is home schooled and is a part-time student at Auburn High School. Owen Gehrett and Tyler Scott, Auburn High School seniors, were also selected as Finalists.

There were over one million students who took the PSAT in October of their junior year to attempt to qualify as a Semifinalist. The National Merit Scholarship Program has now determined which of the 16,200 Semifinalists named last September have met all requirements to advance to standing of Finalist. These academically talented high school seniors, Schillaci, Gehrett, and Scott, have been selected as Finalists in the competition for approximately 8,200 Merit Scholarships which will be awarded in March.
