NEWS RELEASE
Auburn School District Peer Model Preschool Registration
Begins on March 1, 2007
On March 1, the Auburn School District Early Childhood Education (ECE) program will begin accepting applications for children ages three and a half to five years old for the 2007-08 Peer Model preschool program.
The Peer Model program is part of the Auburn School District Special Education Early Childhood program serving preschool children with developmental delays. Peer models (children who pay tuition) play a very important role in the program as eager learners and good role models for language and social skills (play) development. They will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in helping their peers with developmental delays by communicating verbally and assisting peers in appropriate play.
Each of the ECE sites has openings in both morning and afternoon sessions including:
Alpac Elementary School, 253-931-4976
Chinook Elementary School, 253-931-4980
Dick Scobee Elementary School, 253-931-4984
Evergreen Heights Elementary School, 253-931-4974
Gildo Rey Elementary School, 253-931-4952
Lake View Elementary School, 253- 931-4830

The cost is $115.00 per month without parent volunteering or $90.00 with voucher documenting parent volunteering 10 hours per month. The first and last month’s tuition is payable before entering school. Parents must provide transportation to and from school.
Placement is on a first come, first serve basis at the ECE program closest to a child’s primary residence.
