Auburn High School Band Members Qualify for State Competition
at Green River Music Region Solo and Ensemble Contest

On January 26, the Auburn High School band participated in the Green River Music Region Solo and Ensemble Contest. The following band members received outstanding marks and earned a “I” State Qualifier rating, which indicates they will be participating in the Washington State Music Educator’s (WMEA) STATE Solo and Ensemble Contest on April 25-26 at Central Washington University in Ellensburg:

• Saeward Schillaci, French horn solo
• Jordan Dusek, oboe solo
• Trumpet Duet: Derek Schillaci and Jesse Butterfield
• Saxophone Quartet: Aaron Fulwider, Erin Williams, Ben Kerr and
  Cameron Sowards

• Patch Lewis, snare drum solo
• Derek Schillaci, trumpet solo
• Brass Trio: Derek Schillaci, trumpet; Jesse Butterfield, trumpet; and Saeward Schillaci, French horn
• Brass Duet: Derek Schillaci, trumpet; and Saeward Schillaci, French horn

Excellent “II” ratings were awarded to:

• Susan Kramer, marimba solo
• Drew Rossman, trumpet solo
• Jesse Butterfield, trumpet solo
• Chris Weber, trumpet solo
• Kelsey Anderson, saxophone solo
• Ben Kerr, saxophone solo
• Aaron Fulwider, saxophone solo
• Cameron Sowards, saxophone solo
• Erin Williams, saxophone solo
• Clarinet Duet: Janice Knott and Allie Ware
• Percussion Ensemble #2

• Percussion Ensemble #3

Percussion Ensemble members include: Susan Kramer, Andy Patton, Caleb Valdovinos, Jessica Humphries, Patch Lewis, Alyssa Davis, Shayne Brandt, Vance Olsen, Chris Rodriguez, Madisen Dixon and  Kyle Hutchinson.
