Auburn School District Board of Directors Selects
Superintendent Search Firm

The Auburn School District Board of Directors selected Northwest Leadership Associates, a superintendent search firm headquartered in Liberty Lake, Washington, to assist the district in recruitment, selection and employment of Auburn School District’s next superintendent.

Current superintendent Linda Cowan will retire at the end of the 2007-08 school year, on June 30, 2008. The new superintendent will report on July 1, 2008.

Northwest Leadership Associates was founded in 1999 by Dennis Ray, who remains its owner and president. Mr. Ray recently retired as the director of Washington State University’s Leaders for Tomorrow’s Schools program, which he developed and led for 12 years. This program is the largest superintendent preparation program in the nation, producing over 250 superintendent candidates under his leadership. He also served as superintendent of Northshore School District for four years and Walla Walla School District for 10 years. Mr. Ray’s team will assist in the recruiting and screening process, and includes experienced and dedicated educational professionals.
