Free Summer Lunches for all Children!

The Auburn School District will partner with various community organizations to sponsor a Summer Food Service program for anyone 1 - 18 years of age. The meals are free for any child in the district (1 - 18) and no registration is required. A variety of hot and cold lunches will be offered daily and will include cold milk, fresh fruits, and fresh vegetables.

Sites will be located throughout Auburn, Algona and Pacific - including the Algona Pacific Library, the Pacific Community Center, Auburn City parks like Brannan, Les Gove, Memorial and Cedar Lanes (each park will serve from 12 noon - 12:30 pm Monday - Friday; June 23rd - August 22nd - other community site times will vary by site). A complete list of sites and service times will be posted on the district website in early June.

All children are invited to participate - this is a wonderful opportunity for all children in our community to gather and share a nutritious meal!

For information or if your apartment complex or organization would like to sponsor a site, please email: ChildNutrition@auburn.wednet.edu; check the school district website: http://www.auburn.wednet.edu/; or call 253.931.4972.

Help Request:

Bess Owens has requested help in the attendance office as a means to improve attendance at AHS and allow the attendance staff more time to deal with serious cases.

Dealing with tardies takes about 15-20 minutes each period, and means the attendance staff loses about 2 hours a day taking care of this detail. If a parent could help with one or two periods a day, say first period or fourth period because they are the worst, it would be most appreciated. The schedule is wide open for help. They do need to get finger printed within a reasonable time if they are going to be working with students.

If you are able to help with this task please contact Bess Owens at Auburn High AND please email me back. I would like to see how many volunteers we get for this.

Thank you so much,

Lisa Connors

Auburn High PTSA President
