Hello and welcome
to 8th grade math!
We are going to
have a blast this year in algebra or pre-algebra. We will be working out of a text book but
will also be exploring concepts through hands-on activities, projects and
challenging math puzzles.
Students will need
to bring the following to class every
day:
- 1” 3 ring binder (to be used for this
class only)
- Divider tabs for 5 sections (warm-ups,
classwork, homework, tests/quizzes, notes,)
- pencil pouch with at least 3 pencils
- Notebook paper
- Highlighter
- Red or blue grading pen
Homework will be
assigned 2-3 times a week. Students will
have notes along with several examples in their notebook of each concept we
study. They should refer to these when
completing homework at home.
You will receive a
progress report every two weeks so that you are aware of your child’s progress.
Please sign and return these – students will receive homework points for
returning them.
