PARENT INFORMATION

Here is the information parents most often request about

our class.  If there is anything else you would like know,

please contact me at 931-4995, or at the e-mail listed below.

Thanks for all you do to help your child be successful in class!

1.  Our course outline appears on the other side of this page.

2.       I do not assign homework, but I do expect all absences to be made up.

3.       Late work may be made up, but receives only 75% of the points it would have received on time.  Extra credit is encouraged.  It may raise a students grade up to 10%. (No late work or extra credit is accepted the last week of the quarter.)

4.       Progress reports are mailed home at the middle and end of each quarter.  I also send reports home with students about half-way between mailings.  I update and post grades for students every week.  If you would like grade information between progress reports, I am happy to answer any requests.   An easy way to reach me is at VBryant@mx.auburn.wednet.edu

5.       Supplies students need every day are:  planner, 2 pens or pencils, and a notebook with paper.

FIELD TRIP INFORMATION AND PERMISSION

This class uses a personal finance curriculum develop by Junior Achievement, and will include a trip to the Junior Achievement Finance Park (near the Supermall).  In a day-long simulation of adult finances, students will use the information we have learned to develop a budget, make investments, use credit, and pay bills.  It’s a great chance for students to see how much money and skill is needed to be financially independent.  We are asked to bring one adult for every 6 students.
