TESTS, CLASSWORK, AND LATE ASSIGNMENTS
.
I try to give students plenty of time in class to take care of the assignments given. If a student chooses to not use the time efficiently, then homework may result, in order to complete the work on time. Occasionally the need to assign homework may occur.
All assignments are worth 10 points and are graded on the following scale.
10 = A+
9 = A If assignments are not complete the student will receive a 0
8 = B instead of a grade. An incomplete assignment is one in which
7 = C more than two questions/problems/definitions are not done.
6 = D
5 = F
0 = F
- I will accept two (2) late assignments per student for full credit, after
two assignments are turned in late, I will accept no other work from
that student. Tests can be made up at any time, up until one week before
the end of the quarter. This is the same deadline for late work to be
submitted.
If a student is absent I will give three (3) days per absent day to turn in any homework /classwork assigned during the time they were absent. Getting the work for the days absent is the responsibility of the student
Homework/classwork is weighted to count for 40% of a students overall
grade.
Tests are weighted to account for 60% of a students overall grade.
There will be tests during the course of the quarter, each will receive
a percentage grade which will be used for calculating grades.
- The overall grading scale is as follows:
90% - 100% = A
87.5 89.9% =B+
80%- 87.4% =B
77.5%-79.9%=C+
70% -77.4% =C
67.5 69.9% =D+
60% - 67.4% =D
59.9% or less =F
All students will be given two bathroom/emergency passes, after those
have been used the student will be assigned lunch detention for each
subsequent trip out of class. I encourage students to use the bathroom
before the period starts each day.
All work is expected to be done in legible handwriting with visibly
identifiable ink or pencil. The color you choose is just that, your
choice. I do not care whether you write on one side or both sides of the
paper.
