Text Box: Unit 1: We have started our “Walk to Math” groups. All the groups will be concentrating on the same skills, just at a different level to meet the needs of the students in that particular group. We are just finished up Unit 1 last week. We have been working on: daily routines, using the number line and other math tools, number writing practice, one more/Text Box: one less, comparing numbers, recording tallies, working in small groups, weather and temperature, and number stories.
Unit 2: This unit will introduce the students to telling time, counting money, number lines and number grids, developing readiness for addition and subtraction, problem solving, and number models.
Text Box: The homelinks will help to also give you an idea of what we have been covering in class. It will really help to reinforce what we teach at school if you help your student complete each homelink that is sent home. The extra practice will reinforce each skill for your child.

Text Box: Comfort Kits
Does your student have a comfort kit at school yet? If not, he/she needs to bring one to school as soon as possible.
What if we have a real earthquake and your student has to remain at school for 3 days before you can come get him/her?
It’s still not too late to send one in!
