Accelerated ReaderAbout ARAccelerated Reader is a classroom based program designed to strengthen student's comprehension by providing questions for students to answer. The AR program provides a wide variety of leveled, high interest books from which students may choose. The teachers and librarian work collaboratively to ensure that students always have at least one AR book that matches their reading level. In the library: The librarian has students check out at least one AR book and one book of their choice. Student who have not returned their books can get an AR book to keep in their classrooms. Teachers: Chinook teachers use this program in addition to the district curriculum. Students may take AR tests on the books they have read from home, the classroom, or the school library..
