The 2002 winner is A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park. The Randolph Caldecott Medal for outstanding picture book. The 2002 winner is The Three Pigs by David Wiesner. The Coretta Scott King Award for outstanding author and/or illustrator of African decent whose books promote an understanding and appreciation for the "American Dream." The 2002 winner is The Land by Mildred D. Taylor. Local AwardsThe Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award is selected by Kindergarten through Third Grade students in Washington state.
