Dear Chinook Students, Families, and Community Members:

I am pleased to welcome you and your family to Chinook Elementary home of the Eagles. As your principal, I am excited to work with you along with our incredible staff to provide all children with an exceptional educational experience. I look forward to working with you this year creating an educational partnership focused on successful learning for all students in a safe, nurturing and caring environment. Chinook continues to emphasize our efforts in student achievement in the areas of reading, writing and math. Educating children to be successful in today’s world is a shared responsibility including the school professional staff, students and parents. It will take all of us working together as we strive to meet higher academic standards for all students. The staff at Chinook and I will work hard and have high expectations for our students and ourselves. I value your input as we work together to ensure a successful school year.

All parents give many levels of support throughout the school year that are extremely valuable for student’s success. Your participation by getting your child ready for school with the proper materials and supplies, properly fed, dressed, and to school on time while encouraging regular attendance lays the foundation to a great start every day. Communicating with your child’s teacher throughout the school year, attending school activities such as open house, conferences, and other family/school functions shows support. Volunteers are also needed at school and Chinook is looking to increase parent involvement. Your time and energy is valuable and will add a greater sense of community to our school. As well, I encourage all families to join and participate in our P.T.S.A. Our active and supportive P.T.S.A. does an excellent job complementing our academic offerings. As the year progresses I encourage you to look for opportunities to participate in your child’s education.

If you have a question about your child’s curriculum, classroom activities, or progress in school, please contact your child’s teacher by email or telephone. The professional staff is dedicated to assisting you and your child. Feel free to contact me in regard to other school issues.

Sincerely,

Lenny Holloman
Principal
