Welcome to Room 305!

                    Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2005-2006 school year.  I am looking forward to a new and exciting year with you and your child. I know that this is a hectic time of year:  getting the kids back into a routine that includes school and study time. In order for the students to have a successful year, our second and third grade teams have implemented the same expectations for homework, behavior, and class work.  Some of the changes that may be expected are as follows:

              1.   Homework will be turned in daily at 8:40a.m.

              2.   Students are expected to use and maintain an organized binder(3rd grade students) or folder (2nd grade students).

              3.   Any unfinished class work is also to be done and turned in the following day at 8:40 a.m.

              4.   Assignment sheets are filled in daily and are expected to be signed Thursday night and turned in by
              Friday mornings at 8:40 a.m.

              5.     Our schedule for music, P.E. and library is as follows:

             Monday P.E.@1:40-2:25

             Tuesday P.E.@8:55-9:40

             Wednesday Music@8:55-9:40

             Thursday Library @8:55-9:40

             Friday Music@1:40-2:25

                6.     Students receive letter grades in third grade

                7.     Student in second grade receive a + / or -

You may want to send a healthy snack with your child everyday to have mid-morning.  They tend to get hungry between 8:40 and their lunchtime at 11:55--12:25. Lunch is $2.00 and we are asking that the students
give us their checks or money to be put into their accounts first thing in the morning.  That way it is easier to put into their account properly.

We will be having a parent night on Sept. 12th, so please mark your calendars.  More information regarding times will be coming home this Thursday.

We will also be having an open house on Sept. 21st this year and your child will be able to show you all of their wonderful work, so mark this date on your calendars early!

If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning experience, please feel free to contact me at the school 931-4984 or my e-mail address is braines@auburn.wednet.edu. I want your child’s school year to be fun, full of learning and growing!  I am looking forward to a new year!

                    Sincerely,
