Scobee Challenger Button Program
Again this year, students have to EARN their Scobee Buttons.
In order to promote a positive school climate, students must demonstrate....
Respect, Responsibility, & Cooperation
Not only in their classrooms, but EVERYWHERE during their school day!
Classroom teachers will nominate
students for their button when they see these behaviors consistently demonstrated
in the classroom.
THEN......every adult that student comes in regular contact with has to agree
or disagree based on the students behavior while with them.
Soooo....not only does their teacher need to see this behavior....so does the principal, the custodian, the librarian, the music teacher, the PE teacher, the counselor, the bus driver, .......................
When all are in agreement, the student will be presented their button by the principal and a letter will be sent home to parents!
Button holders have special privileges
including:
special in class responsibilities, activities....
check out an extra book at library time
special helpers for assemblies, etc.
button days (prizes/treats from the principal)
and many others!!!
Just like the old button program, these can still be taken away if the student does not continue to show appropriate behavior.
Please support this new program by talking with your child about what it takes
to show the three characteristics needed to earn this award. We are looking
forward to many new button holders as the year progresses!!!!
