News Flash

I am amazed at how fast this school year has started. So far, we have completed our first field trip, Mission to the Moon, which was very successful and enjoyed by all. We currently are writing a follow-up report based on our “trip” to the moon. This week in Math, we are starting Unit 3, Geometry Explorations and the American Tour focusing on building, exploring, comparing, measuring and constructing shapes. In our Literature series, we have started our second unit, Moving On, focusing on how people cope and react to changes in their environment. Additionally, we have started our SWARM groups and they are going very smoothly.

Homework Update

Please be sure to take an active part in your student’s homework. Each day, unless I specify, students have homework. On the Homework Log sent home each Friday, students are to read each day (be sure to include book Title) along with spelling, math and literature worksheets. You can check under each subject if work was assigned. Each month, every student will be completing a book report that will be due at the end of the month.

Camp Update

Our Camp Auburn dates have tentatively been set for June 5^th –8^th with Lea Hill and Pioneer Elementary. Current price per student will be $140. In the next day or so, we will be doing a math activity/problem to determine how much we need to save each month to meet this goal.
