November 6th, 2009
Dear Parents and
Guardians:
As we
prepare for the upcoming holiday season, I hope that this letter finds all of
you in good health. I wanted to take a moment and let all of you know that
the format for our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences at Mt. Baker, will be
very different than the way in which they have been done in years past. With
the changes to our middle school delivery model, it was necessary to also
change the format of our conference model. This year, our Parent Conferences
will be held in the morning from 7:30 A.M. to 10 A.M. on Wednesday, November
18th and 7:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 19th.
This year,
our “Arena Conferences” will be held in the gymnasium with our teaching staff
seated at tables around the gymnasium. Teacher names will be posted above
each of our Mt. Baker staff member’s tables to help assist you. All that you
need to do, is to wait for your son/daughter’s teacher to become available for
your own private conference time in the gym. No individual appointment is
necessary! For those parents that have older siblings that attend Auburn
Riverside High School, I am sure that you are very familiar with the format
that I am describing.
Please
understand parents, that although we would like to be able to provide as much
time as possible for our Parent/Teacher conferences- our time in this format
is very limited. This year we are asking that parents limit their
conferencing to between two to four minutes for each individual
teacher conference. In the event that you require additional time to meet
with your son or daughter’s teacher, then you should communicate directly with
your son or daughter’s teacher to set up a time to meet.
Friday,
November 20th from 7:30-10:00 A.M. will be reserved for private
conferences. These conferences will be held in the teacher’s classroom and
are available by appointment only. If you are interested in a private
conference with a teacher, please contact that teacher directly to set up a
time to meet. Remember, that these conferences on Friday are limited in
number and are available on a first come, first served basis.
We hope
that you are able to take time out of your schedule to come in and meet with
us during our Parent/Teacher Conferences. As always, we appreciate your
ongoing support of Mt. Baker Middle School and our incredible students and
staff!
Positively,
Darin Adams
