Spectator Code

 

Thank you for coming to Olympic Middle School to watch today’s event.  We are happy you are joining us and we hope you enjoy the contest.  In an effort to be certain that everyone is aware of our spectator code, we ask that you read the following:

 

1.      DISPLAY POSITIVE SPORTSMANSHIP AND CONDUCT.  We constantly encourage our athletes to be good sports and we expect the same of our parents and spectators.  Just as we encourage you to show your pleasure with the events on the court or field with applause and cheers, we also ask that spectators not boo or yell negative comments at anyone, including referees, players, and coaches.

 

2.      STAY OFF THE PLAYING COURT/FIELD AT ALL TIMES.  Spectators and students are not allowed on the court, mat, or field during breaks in play such as halftime.  We also ask that you not run across the playing arena at anytime.

 

3.      ALL SCHOOL RULES ARE IN EFFECT AT AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES. Pop and food are not permitted in the gym.  All school rules are enforced for students (no hats, sagging, etc.).  The building activity supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.  Their directions are to be followed at all times.

 

4.      SPECTATORS SHOULD REMAIN SEATED IN THE BLEACHERS.  For safety reasons, please sit only on the pulled out section of the bleachers, not on top of the bleachers or in the roped off area.  Running up and down the bleachers and going under the bleachers is not permitted.  If something is dropped under the bleachers and needs to be retrieved, please see a supervisor.  Please use the northeast door when entering and exiting the gym. 

 

 

Any spectators who violate the rules will be warned.  Should the behavior persist, the individuals will be asked to leave.
